Patriots Lineman Claims Team Didn’t ‘Respect’ WR Malik Cunningham Talent

The New England Patriots let Malik Cunningham go despite his great talent. He looked good in the preseason and the Patriots even elevated him to the active roster at one point of the regular season. Cunningham showed signs of dominance as wide receiver and quarterback, but head coach Bill Belichick had his reasons to let him go. The Baltimore Ravens didn’t waste any time and grabbed Cunningham right away. He is now part of their active roster.

Cunningham didn’t really get a chance to play his best football, but Patriots players have nothing but respect for him. They saw his potential and his skill set impressed everyone on the Patriots roster.

Trent Brown and probably every other player on Bill Belichick’s roster wish Cunningham well. The offensive tackle delivered a great message for his teammate. Cunningham didn’t get a chance to glow in New England and he will probably try to get the best of his new deal with the Ravens.

“Go flourish where your talent is respected,” Brown wrote in his Instagram stories.

Cunningham is grateful for his time with the Patriots

Brown’s comment will definitely cause an avalanche of reactions in the NFL world. However, Cunningham is not that bitter. In fact, he is not bitter at all. He thanked Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Belichick for the opportunity he was given. Cunningham even said that he learned a lot during his time with the team. It’s interesting to note that Cunningham plans to be a head coach one day.

“I wanted to thank Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick for giving me opportunity to play with the Patriots. I learned a lot from them,” Cunningam told Schefter. “I want to be a coach one day, so I would take notes from coach Belichick because he’s one of the greatest of all time. I had great teammates in New England and built relationships that will last a lifetime. But I just feel like this is a good opportunity for me and I’m excited to be a Baltimore Raven.”
