Lakers Head Coach Darvin Ham Claps Back At Critics

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to their city rivals and it is not good. Fans are disappointed and critics got a little too harsh about the current situation in LA. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham had something to say about comments made by critics. One thing stands for sure. He doesn’t let outside noise get under his skin.

“If they’re not the Lakers, then don’t pay attention to it,” Ham said of his message to players.

The Lakers lost 10 games since their win in the NBA In-Season tournament. Critics discussed the issues in the locker room. Some say Ham is on his way out just like Frank Vogel was years ago. Others say players are just exhausted. Health played a major factor in the last few weeks. Ham had to adjust the gameplan and make things work with the healthy portion of his squad.

“It is what it is,” Ham said. “It’s the NBA man! This is a marathon and you have to look at the totality of the picture. I’m tired of people living and dying with every single game we play like it’s ludicrous actually. It’s like, come on man! This is a marathon and we hit a tough stretch. It’s the same team that played some high-level games a little while ago and we just got to get back to that. We got to keep the fight though. We cannot lose our fight.”

Ham motivates players to ignore critics, trusts Lakers front office

Several sources claim that the Lakers front office is probably looking for ways to get rid of Ham. Does he have some concerns about his position?

“I’m solid,” Ham said, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN on January 5. “My governor, Jeanie Buss, the boss lady; our president, Robert Pelinka — we’re all aligned. As long as they’re not saying it, I guess I’m good. Which I know how they feel about me and the situation we’re currently in.”

Ham had great expectations from his team and trusts his scheme. When healthy, Lakers players have great chemistry and excellent performance on the floor.
