Lakers ‘Checked In’ On $13 Million Floor-Spacing Trade Target
The Los Angeles Lakers may opt for a few new moves and they could already be after a top trade target. The front office is expected to boost the roster, meaning they could add someone like Detroit Pistons Danilo Gallinari. Analysts agree that the floor-spacing veteran could be of great help for the purple and gold.
Michael Scotto from HoopsHype discussed the potential scenario. The 35-year-old averages7.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game with the Pistons this season. Gallinari is a career 38.2% three-point shooter and he shoots 53.8% from deep since January 14. Is he a good target for the Lakers?
“Another player rival executives are monitoring is Danilo Gallinari who’s continued to be a knockdown 3-point shooter while playing minutes at the four and small ball five at times in the final year of his contract,” Scotto wrote on February 5. The Lakers are among the teams who’ve checked in on Gallinari’s price tag to acquire him, league sources told HoopsHype.”
The Lakers could swap a potential trade target
Many believe that the Lakers would look better with another superstar on the roster. Gallinari is not a superstar, but he could be an efficient to the Lakers’ shooting woes. To get Gallinari, the Lakers will have to give up on Gabe Vincent, 2024 second-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick.
The Lakers may decide to move on from Vincent. He is in the first year of his three-year deal, but his name is mentioned in pretty much every trade rumor. Is he on his way out?
“Lakers guard Gabe Vincent, who’s become included in Los Angeles’ outgoing trade conversations, sources said, appears on track to return by early March,” Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer wrote on February 5. “He was given an 8-10 week recovery period and has so far been recuperating on schedule, sources said.”
In his first game with the Pistons, Danilo Gallinari finished with 8 points in 16 mins off the bench and +20. Detroit lost by 6 to the Bucks.

The Lakers have the freedom to make a few smart moves. We don’t really know if trading Vincent is their top priority.
