Darvin Ham Sheds Addresses Injured Lakers Statuses Amid Conflicting Reports

The Los Angeles Lakers have a few injured players, but head coach Darvin Ham is not really worried about it. The end of the regular season is almost here and players have to try their best and win the games on their schedule.

Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Gabe Vincent are regulars on the Lakers injury report. Head coach Ham didn’t provide much info on their future, but did provide some details about their practice.

“[Vincent]’s doing his individual process. It’s ongoing, but it’s ongoing in a really positive way. Same for Vando,” the Lakers head coach told the media on March 20. “Cam was able to participate today, and we look forward to seeing him play on [March 21].”

Reddish has a key role with the Lakers, but he is prone to injuries. This has affected his performance on the basketball court and has already missed some games as a Lakers player. Reddish averages 7.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists for the Lakers this season.

Ham to provide more details on injured Lakers players

There have been several confusing reports about the Lakers injury report. Bill Reiter from CBS Sports was among those reporting that all three players will miss the rest of the season.

“Sources tell @CBSSports that Los Angeles Lakers players Christian Wood, Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent will miss the rest of the season,” Reiter posted on X on March 19. “While Vanderbilt still could return, sources say, the expectation is that will not happen. @espn first reported the news on Wood.”

When it comes to Wood’s situation with the Lakers, no one has provided details on his current status. We do know that he will miss some time after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee.

“ESPN Sources with [Dave McMenamin]: Los Angeles Lakers F Christian Wood will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks,” Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported in a post on X on March 18.

Marc Stein from The Stein Line suggested something that goes against Reiter’s initial report. As you may have noticed, news from different sources can be really misleading. Fans should only rely on reports provided by the Lakers front office and sources close to the franchise.

“Lakers G Gabe Vincent is nearing a return and intends to play again this season barring any setbacks, league sources tell @TheSteinLine,” Stein reported on X on March 19. “Vincent has played in just 5 games as a Laker and underwent arthroscopic surgery (left knee) in late December.”
