LeBron James, Anthony Davis Struggle In Lakers Loss Vs. Kings With Big Playoff Implications

The Los Angeles Lakers went against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, but it didn’t go well for the team. LA suffered a 120-107 loss at the Golden 1 Center. Who is responsible for the big loss?

Lakers players entered the night trailing Sacramento by two games for the seventh seed in the West. They won nine of the last 13 games and could easily win this one. They didn’t. The defense struggled at times and players were somewhat slow. Kings players took advantage of the mistakes LA made and finished the night with a win.

“Any loss is frustrating, especially when you allow a team to beat you because of your mistakes,” said Anthony Davis. “Turnovers, offensive rebounds, miscues on defense. … We allowed a team to beat us.”

Fans couldn’t agree more. Lakers players didn’t play their best basketball. Everyone made mistakes.

Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura were great in the first half of the night. This prevented an even bigger disaster.

“Offensively, we just couldn’t get it going and they did,” said LeBron James. “Really good team, they have our number this year, for sure.”

Lakers should learn from their loss to the Kings

The Lakers finished the game three games behind Phoenix for the sixth seed in the West. They are now tied in the loss column with Stephen Curry’s team for the final ply-in spot.

“We already knew we was in a gauntlet of our schedule,” added LeBron. “Everybody positioning, jockeying … some of the best teams in the league. We knew it was a tough stretch for our ballclub … but we’ve still been playing some good ball.”

When it comes to the Golden State Warriors, LA will go against the team on Saturday. Let’s see what happens in the game. Let’s see if players manage to bounce back from this horrible loss.

“We’ve been doing a good job of bouncing back from devastating losses and getting that bad taste out of our mouths, and we’ll do the same with this game,” said head coach Darvin Ham. “Learn from it and get ready for the Warriors.”
