Patriots Set To Have ‘Lengthy Meeting’ With Top Quarterback Prospect

The New England Patriots look a lot different now, but they aren’t done making changes. The team has big holes on the roster and Jerod Mayo definitely needs new quarterbacks, receivers, cornerbacks and much more. New England can use the No.3 overall pick to solve at least one issue. They can also trade down and get players they like better. According to Jeff Howe from The Athletic, the Patriots will have a meeting with the best quarterback prospect.

The team will have a long meeting with Jayden Daniels, but we don’t have more details.

Albert Breer from Sports Illustrated reported that Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, quarterback coach T.C. McCartney, and director of scouting Eliot Wolf watched Caleb Williams during his workout. Mayo joined the group during J.J. McCarthy’s workout.

Patriots HC Mayo has already met the quarterback prospect

The Patriots have already met with Daniels. This meeting took place at the NFL Combine in February, but again, we don’t have any details about it.

I met him before. Look, those guys have pro days coming up here soon,” Mayo told the media. “So when you think about the process, like when I leave here, I’m going to LSU and then when I leave LSU I’m going to Carolina before I get back home.

“But you have to do your due diligence. And once again it’s not all about me it’s not all about Eliot. What you guys have heard me say a lot, it’s about collaboration.”

The Patriots have to make more changes to make things work in the 2024 NFL season. Team owner Robert Kraft is confident about the team’s offseason plans. They risked it all to let Bill Belichick go and also cut ties with many players, making room for new names.

It won’t be easy, but Mayo and the new coaching staff will try their best to lead the team to the big game. Let’s see how things go in training camp and minicamp.
