LeBron James Has Strong 4-Word Reaction To Rumored Lakers Trade Target Big Night

The Los Angeles Lakers are getting ready for a major shakeup. They were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Firing Darvin Ham was the first decision they made. The Lakers are expected to look for trade targets before hiring a new head coach. LeBron James fueled the fire with a comment he made about one potential trade target.

LeBron and Kyrie Irving went through a lot together and the Dallas Mavericks star may be the next star to join the Lakers.

The four-time NBA champion had a great message for Irving after his incredible performance in Game 6. Irving finished the night with 30 points

“KY STOP IT!!!!! OMG,” LeBron wrote on X.

LeBron and the Lakers can finally trade for their star target

LeBron wanted Irving to sign with the Lakers last offseason. Irving wanted to be a Laker. It didn’t happen though. Now may be the perfect time for this trade to take place.

“He was … about to become a free agent, and according to sources close to him, Irving had a strong interest in reuniting with James — the man he’d won an NBA championship with as Cavaliers back in 2016 — either in Los Angeles or Dallas,” ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne wrote on January 17.

Irving was a top target for the Lakers in the last few seasons. LeBron embraced the idea of sharing the floor with his former teammate again. He didn’t do much though and had a good reason to do so.

“James was open to the idea, sources said, but careful not to do anything that would be seen as a push,” Shelburne wrote.

If Irving makes the Lakers, they will have to give up on D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and a 2029 first-rounder.

Getting another star player makes sense for the Lakers at this point. They have to make big changes in order to improve their standings in the Western Conference.

“The Lakers plan to use the three picks that they will have available this summer … to pursue a star via trade,” The Athletic’s Jovan Buha wrote on February 9. “Three potential targets are Donovan MitchellTrae Young and Kyrie Irving, according to team and league sources. The Athletic has previously reported on the franchise’s interest in Young and Irving.”
