Report: LeBron James’ Foundation Set To Open New School
LeBron James has recently become a Los Angeles Laker, but his hometown of Akron, Ohio, will remain always close to his heart.
He tries to prove his love and connection to his roots with every chance he gets, and this time was no exception. The 14-time NBA All-Star proudly announced that his LeBron James Family Foundation will be opening a school in Akron.

The project, working in conjunction with the Akron Public School district, will have an inaugural class of approximately 240 students from first through eighth grade and infuse a “rigorous curriculum with a STEM, hands-on, problem-based learning focus,” including the organization’s “We Are Family” approach.
Bron was rightfully proud and excited about his dream come true.
The jitters before the first day of school are real right now!!! Tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest moments (if not the greatest) of my life when we open the #IPROMISE School. This skinny kid from Akron who missed 83 days of school in the 4th grade had big dreams… https://t.co/PwmRaHRfng

Excellent work by the King in utilizing his influence away from the court and making such an impact on his community. He’ll truly always belong to northeast Ohio.
