Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick‘s professional relationship is nearing two decades, so it’s safe to say that they’ve gotten to know each other plenty well. Does that closeness includes exchanging birthday gifts?
Brady will turn 41 on Friday, and the Pats head coach was asked during his press briefing on Monday if he has something planned for the G.O.A.T.
Belichick chuckled a bit at the question, and then responded: “I have a couple days to work on that. We’ll come up with something.”
Sounds like at least he’ll think about it. Given Brady’s well-documented diet, he probably wouldn’t want a traditional birthday cake, so Belichick will have to get a little creative.
Brady’s teammate, Rob Gronkowski, was also asked what he’s getting TB12.
“It’s a secret,” Rob Gronkowski said.
He added: “I didn’t get him a present yet but I don’t know. Usually, he just loves the game of football so much, usually on his birthday he just wants a good practice day. Lot of touchdowns.”
Gronkowski also praised Brady for what everything he’s been doing, even though he’s in his 40s.
“I mean, no doubt about it,” he said. “He’s hands-down just remarkable, it’s amazing. At age 41, I mean, there’s coaches younger than us – younger than him on the roster. He looks younger than the coaches, he looks younger than everyone. The way he’s moving, how just reliable he is at all times is just unbelievable and something to look up to.”
