Rob Gronkowski Reacts To Odell Beckham’s Contract News
Odell Beckham just got his contract extension, and that’s a pretty good raise, right? New England Patriots tight end is ready for his raise, and that’s exactly what he talked about during the press conference.
Getting a contract extension means that the team appreciates your work on the field. Rob Gronkowski is doing an excellent job out there, and he plays for $10 million. That’s a great amount, but Gronk deserves a lot more. Let’s not forget that the Giants receiver just signed a five-year contract extension worth $95 million. Yes, $95 million.
What does Gronk think about this?
“He’s a great player. He comes up clutch in many situations and just his talent is second-to-none. It’s always good to see guys like that that got that talent – I’m in for the players always. I mean, I’m a player, so it’s good to see that,” Gronk said.
The tight end is always open for a new contract, and he better get one in near future. However, he doesn’t urge things. There’s nothing here. But, he’d sure use well a few more millions. Reporters asked if he felt he wanted the contract done prior the beginning of the season.
“It is what it is. That’s not really my focus. I got a long season ahead and just trying to focus on what I need to really do and just let everything else play out,” Gronk said.
Gronk finished 2017 with 69 receptions for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns. He had 116 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots’ effort in Super Bowl LII.
The New England Patriots have also restructured the deals for Tom Brady and James Develin. Shaq Mason also had his contract extension.
The receiver portion of the team is still weak, and we hope that things will get better after Julian Edelman returns.
