The Case For New England Patriots To Bring Back Brandon LaFell

The New England Patriots receiving unit is a target again. What about Brandon LaFell?

Wide out Eric Decker announcement his retirement, and his move wasn’t really a surprise. It was more than clear that he would be cut by the team because he didn’t see any time with quarterback Tom Brady in the third preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. Can Brandon LaFell be of great help here?

Julian Edelman is out of the game for now, which leaves Rob Gronkowski, James Whit, Jacob Hollister, Rex Burkhead and the other non-wide receiver pass catching options to help Brady.

We know that Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson and Matthew Slater will make the opening 53-man roster.

Brandon LaFell is the player Pats should keep their eyes on. The Bengals released LaFell this offseason, and he hasn’t found a home yet. The 31-year-old player has a history of success in the Pats’ team. 2014 was his most successful year of his career. LaFell player in all season games, and had 74 receptions for 953 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Brady has a good rapport with LaFell, and it’s no longer a secret that LaFell “loved his time” in New England. Is there any chance that LaFell returns to the team?

LaFell doesn’t have the flash like Dez Bryant, but he sure knows all the tricks behind the game with Tom Brady. Maybe the Patriots should give him a chance and see if his talent is still in place.

The Patriots are slowly shrinking their roster in an effort to build a 53-man system. The regular season will start pretty soon, but first they have to win the last preseason game. How will things turn for the Patriots this time? Their loss to the Panthers was a bad surprise for their fans, and Pats hope that none of their mistakes will ever happen again.
