Bill Belichick Broke His Silence About The Patriots’ Pair Of New Wide Receivers

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is getting ready for the new season, and this time he talked about the new wide receivers that joined the team.

Are there any promises regarding the future of Chad Hansen and Amara Darboh? Well, Bill Belichick didn’t make any promises.

“They were available, so we’ll take a look at them and see how it goes,” the head coach said.

Hansen came straight from the New York Jets and Darboh arrived from the Seattle Seahawks. Both players were looked at prior to the 2017 NFL Draft. The Patriots got a second look at Hansen during the preseason.

This adds more to the wide receiver unit. Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson and Matthew Slater were the only wide receivers on the depth chart until Julian Edelman comes back. Edelman will sit out the first four games of the season.

“We’re not trying to plan out anything other than where we are today, where we are tomorrow, see where we are the next day, and just see how all that comes together,” the head coach said.

“We have a little bit of extra time this week, not a whole lot, so we’ll just see how quickly that can or can’t happen. We don’t have any background with these players other than from college, which we’re a long way away from that. We’ll just take it day by day, go through the process, and see how it comes along,” Belichick added.

The Patriots are now complete, and the roster is trimmed down to perfection. We can only hope that Belichick did a good job by signing some new names, and releasing those who didn’t quite fit the preseason game.

This will be a great season for everybody, and NFL teams have high expectations. Who wouldn’t?
