Report: Media Praises Lakers’ Breakout Player Vs. Warriors

The preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors is still filling headlines. The Warriors had three of their five top starters on the floor. The Lakers made their entire roster available. This was more like a test for the teams. The Lakers made it, and they won the game.

The teams played again on Friday, and the Lakers left some of their players out. The Warriors also changed their tactics, and let their huge players hit the floor. They created a one-sided game early on, and the Lakers managed to settle down. They did not keep it close on the scoreboard, and performed admirably. It does not matter who wins and who loses the game. The players’ development is more important than the win. Winning games that count is more important than winning a preseason game.

The Lakers approached the game this way, and it worked. The young players showed up and gave the team encouraging signs. The new veterans had the same troubling tendencies. The media put it all together.

“LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Ingram, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Josh Hart and Alex Caruso all out for Lakers tonight in San Jose,” Bill Oram.

“LeBron is out, but still very active. He was in the huddle during this timeout talking to Michael Beasley — who started this game in LeBron’s place.”

LeBron James’ addition was one of the hottest stories this summer. He does not play too often with young players. But, he did not skip a game, and use the chance to help out those who will help him throughout the season.

“Lonzo Ball drilled a top-of-the-key 3 to counter Steph’s triple on the other end as the Warriors and Lakers are tied at 5 getting underway in San Jose. No hesitation from ‘Zo, just pulled it, as he’s been good at,” Mike Trudell tweeted.
