Report: Lakers Tipped To Sack Luke Walton Next Week

The Los Angeles Lakers are tipped to sack head coach Luke Walton next week. The team did not have a great start to the 2018 campaign. LeBron James needed some time to get used to the new players. The team is made from young talents and veterans.

LeBron James was injured and missed a few games. Four of the five games he missed ended up with a loss. The Lakers will have to find a solution to play without the star player as LeBron will miss a few more games. Head coach Luke Walton is not really happy about this.

Fox Sports NBA radio host Jason Smith talked about the only outcome for Walton.

“Things are getting a little hot for Luke Walton. LeBron or no LeBron, if the Lakers are sitting at .500 midway through the season, he won’t be Lakers head coach for long. Impatience will win out…” he wrote on Twitter.

The Lakers played 40 of the 82 games and their win ratio is .538. If the team loses three games next week, Walton will have to go. In November, things got a little hot for Walton. Fans were not really happy about the slow start, and the meeting between Walton and Magic Johnson just added fuel to the fire.

Magic Johnson said Walton’s position is safe.

“Yeah, we’re not going to fire him. The meeting last week with Walton wasn’t even a meeting about that. We just have to be better and that was it,” the Lakers director of basketball operations said.

Luke Walton is confident about the players, and the guys better play their best basketball. The Lakers need to win the next few games to keep Walton safe. What will happen if they keep losing games? Well, Walton will not live through a happy ending, that’s a sure bet.
