Lakers Expected To Sign $215 Million Superstar Guard

The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to several players in the last couple of months. They may not need to upgrade their roster because the current squad is doing an incredible job. However, NBA analysts believe that the Lakers will eventually make a move to sign a star guard.

The Atlanta Hawks put an end to their playoff hopes with the loss to the Chicago Bulls. They may be interested in reshaping the entire roster and Trae Young may end up on the trade block. Pairing him with Dejounte Murray turned out to be an unsuccessful experiment. Colin Cowherd from Fox Sports is convinced that Young will join the Lakers in the 2024-25 NBA season.

“Atlanta and Chicago played, but the winner was the Lakers,” Cowherd said on the April 18 episode of “The Herd.” Trae Young, my guess, is coming to LA. So they’re gonna add Trae Young, Atlanta is gonna go with Dejounte Murray and it’s very clear.”

Lakers could sign the guard to boost the roster

The Hawks could get great players and picks for Young. He is a valuable asset and the Hawks may part ways with him and focus on Murray.

The Lakers have shown great interest in Young and he’s been mentioned as a top trade target for the team. Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report believes that this is a realistic scenario.

“If the Hawks decide Young is the guard to move, the Lakers are believed to be one of the teams with serious interest,” Pincus wrote in an April 15 column. “Whether he’s the right fit is debatable (he doesn’t play well off the ball, and LeBron James usually has it in his hands to end games), but the Lakers have been known to chase players that may or may not fit (Russell Westbrook).”

Getting Young won’t be easy. The Lakers will have to give up on Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and some pick. The front office may not be a fan of this trade scenario.
