Trey Flowers To Sign Massive Deal With New NFL Team

Trey Flowers has been linked to several teams in the National Football League, but it seems like he will soon sign a nice contract.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Trey Flowers is interested in inking a deal with the Detroit Lions. Shefter first brought the news Monday afternoon.  He tweeted, “Patriots DE Trey Flowers intends to sign with Detroit, per source.” The details suggest that he may ink a five-year deal.

This makes sense. The Lions could use Flowers as he makes a nice fit for their defense. The main question was related to money.

Jason La Canfora was bidding to Flowers last week.

“It wouldn’t be a stretch to see a bidding ware [sic] develop between the Lions and Titans over Patriots edge presence Trey Flowers (the Belichick Effect),” La Canfora said.

The 25-year old player was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. Flowers redshirted his rookie season but became one of the most impactful pass rushers in Foxboro. He totaled 6.5 sacks, 28 quarterback hits and 24 pressures last season. Flowers led the team in sacks in 2016 and 2017, and proved that he can come up in the clutch as evidence of his two and a half sacks in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons.

Flowers won’t come cheap due to his age and experience. The player has age and time on his side, and the Lions better act wisely.

The Lions are working on their defensive line, and they have been really effective against running quarterbacks. Signing Flowers would definitely be a nice boost in Detroit, and the team will sure benefit from his talent. Let’s see if Flowers will be fine with the deal he will be offered. Let’s see what happens next.
