How Bridget Moynahan, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady Successfully Blended Their Families

Bridget Moynahan found out she was pregnant with Tom Brady’s baby two months after he started dating Gisele Bundchen.

John “Jack” Edward Thomas is 12 now. He was born in 2007, and is lucky enough to have two gorgeous parents and an extended family. It wasn’t the best situation for everybody, including him, but everything turned well.

“Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own,” Moynahan said. “I don’t think you can ask for more than that. My son is surrounded by love and grandparents that go on forever, and it’s all good.”

Gisele knew it won’t be easy, and also admits it wasn’t the best scenario a woman in love hopes for.

“There’s no manual to prepare you for that,” Bündchen said in September 2018. “But I’m so grateful for [Bridget]. I know this was hard, but I couldn’t imagine my life without [Jack]. I call him my bonus child. He opened my heart in ways I didn’t even know my heart could expand. I fell in love with him.”

Bridget has a stable relationship with Tom and Gisele.

“I have a relationship with these people on a daily basis,” she said in 2011. “I’m raising a child, and it’s public. My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it’s cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends.”

Tom and Gisele have a daughter, Vivian, and a son, Benjamin.

“I think from the very beginning the whole goal specifically was to always keep it positive,” Moynahan said of co-parenting. “To raise a son in the healthiest environment, and I know we’ve all done that, and it shows. I always encourage everyone to stay positive and understand you have to make the kids priority.”

Moynahan got married in 2015. She and her husband, businessman Andrew Frankel, raise Jack and his three sons from a previous relationship.

“[It’s] a lot of boys in the house,” she said. “There are just photographs and essays and letters all over the house, and they were very patient with the organized chaos that I had going on there.”
