Report: Patriots Reportedly Made Decision On Josh Rosen

The Arizona Cardnals will have to play smart with their No. 1 overall selection in the opening round of the NFL Draft. The Cardinals drafted a quarterback a year ago, and Kyler Murray can change the team and Josh Rosen’s role. The Miami Dolphins and New York Giants have talked with the Cardinals. According to Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots weren’t even involved in the talks.

The Patriots are really fine with their top quarterback. Tom Brady will play in 2019 and beyond, and the team is pretty happy with how things worked out. Brady doesn’t plan to retire in near future, but the Patriots have to think of their future.

“The New England Patriots are among the teams who could use a quarterback for the future after the eventual retirement of Tom Brady,” Nick O’Malley wrote. “The reports surrounding the Patriots’ potential interest has been mixed, with early buzz giving way to reports that the Patriots’ interest isn’t very strong. However, if the market is diminishing for Rosen, that could result in the Cardinals’ potential asking price for Rosen dropping.”

Well, it seems like the Washington aren’t interested in Rosen either.

“As for the rumors about a Josh Rosen trade, I was told Washington does not have any plans to trade with the Cardinals per sources,” Dianna Russini writes. “It was also brought to attention that Arizona could keep Josh Rosen on the roster and trade him later in the summer if they go Murray.”

Where will the young player go? Peter King has a nice theory. He wrote wrote: “No team in the league—from what I’ve heard—has spent more time researching Josh Rosen in recent weeks than Miami. … “Suppose my mock is correct, and Washington and the Giants use the draft to take young quarterbacks, and Miami and the Chargers are the only teams with even some interest in Rosen, and GM Chris Grier tells Arizona GM Steve Keim on draft night: ‘We’ll give you our third-round pick—78 overall—for Rosen. That’s it.’ Tough call for Keim, but knowing Rosen would be an unhappy camper behind Kyler Murray, and figuring this is a good depth draft in the first three rounds … well, that’s a lot to think about right there.”
