Tom Brady Shares His Views On Possible 18-Game NFL Season

NFL players compete throughout a 16-game NFL regular season and four playoff games. NFL owners are now trying to push for an 18-game schedule. Players struggle with injuries, and adding two more games to the regular schedule is unacceptable for some observers.

However, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t mind playing more than he usually does. He talked to NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran, and discussed the effect these extra games would have on NFL players.

“It depends how you take care of yourself. That’s how I see it,” Brady said. “I think your ability to play, your ability to practice is as good as your ability to recover. So if you can’t recover, I think a six-game schedule is hard.

“I try to focus on the recovery of things and try to be out here every day in practice. I know it takes a level of focus and commitment to do that. There’s a lot of work in advance that needs to be done to make that happen. So … I love football.”

Did this answer surprise you? The Patriots quarterback is super proud of his skills and the talent that keeps him playing at this age. Brady is all-in when it comes to promoting health and fitness, and the TB12 regimen is something many athletes swear in. The quarterback managed to create an industry of his food and exercise regimen. There’s a book and mobile detailing Brady’s approach.

Brady loves football. There’s nothing strange about it, and we all know that the quarterback enjoys every minute he spends on the field. He will be 42 in Week 1 of the 2019 season, and that says pretty much everything about his future plans. Brady puts his body and soul on the field, and he is proud of that. I would have been proud of myself if I was in his place.

Every athlete knows that Brady doesn’t mind playing 16 or 18 games. He loves to play, and that’s it. The Patriots are happy to have him around, and hopefully, he will stay around much longer than expected. Game on, Brady!
