Report: LeBron James Never Tried To Recruit Kyrie Irving To The Lakers

LeBron James didn’t do anything to recruit Kyrie Irving, and he had one big reason to do so.

“Kyrie Irving and LeBron James have spoken since the end of their respective seasons. But the conversation, while cordial and casual, sources said, never elevated to the level of LeBron trying to convince Kyrie to re-join him on the Lakers, because of one unmistakable truth: Irving was always headed to Brooklyn.

“The Nets and Irving formally agreed to a four-year, $141 million contract just after 6 p.m. on Sunday. And in a shocker, irving’s friend Kevin Durant decided to join him on the Nets for four years and $164 million.

“Irving’s deal puts an end to his two-year stay in Boston, to the long-rumored Irving-Durant partnership on the Knicks, who whiffed big time, and, yes, to any dreams of a revived LeBron-Kyrie partnership in L.A. that bore so much success when they were together on the Cleveland Cavaliers.”

It was more than obvious that Irving had already made his mind up. According to the Boston Herald, Irving made his decision “months ago,” and LeBron was well aware of that.

Irving ended up signing a four-year $141 million deal with the Nets, joining fellow free agent Kevin Durant, who signed a four-year $164 million deal with the franchise.

LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers are all-in when it comes to recruiting Kawhi Leonard. This will help them create the perfect three. LeBron, Anthony Davis and Kawhi would make the Big 3, and they will be unstoppable.

There’s an increasing number of reports suggesting that Leonard is seriously considering to join LeBron and Davis. Moreover, there’s also a report confirming that Leonard would like to bring in his own trainers and medical team. The Lakers had a terrible season, and their front office issues have been making headlines for too long. Leonard just wants to be sure that the Lakers need him.

It turns out that Leonard had already met with Magic Johnson informally to ask him whether the Lakers were interested in signing him during his time in LA. Leonard is also interested in getting a LeBron-like treatment, so we’ll see how will things turn out for him. The Lakers need him, and they better made a nice offer.
