TMZ Leaks Audio of DeMarcus Cousins Threatening Ex-Girlfriend Over Issue With Their Son

DeMarcus Cousins may be in a big trouble now. The past couple of years have been really hard for him. First, he tore his Achilles two season ago when he was playing with the New Orleans Pelicans. He tore his quad during the Warriors’ run to the NBA finals. He signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, and tore his ACL. As if that wasn’t enough, Cousins allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Christy West, during a phone conversation.

TMZ released the leaked audio, and we can hear a man who was presented as Cousins threaten West to “put a bullet in her f***ing head.”

“I’m gonna ask you this one more time before I take it to another level,” a man identified by West as Cousins said.“Can I have my son here, please?”

West said ‘no,’ and the man spilled out a solid batch of threats.

“I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet through your f—ing head,” the man replied. According to West, Cousins threatened to end her life “even if he didn’t have to get his hands dirty doing it,” TMZ reports, citing court documents.

How did the Los Angeles Lakers react to this? A Mobile police spokesperson told TMZ that there’s an ongoing investigation into West’s claims.

“We are aware of the allegation involving DeMarcus Cousins and, of course, take this claim seriously. We are in the process of gathering information and will reserve further comment at this time,” the Lakers said in their statement.

Cousins’ son didn’t attend the wedding ceremony. Two of his former teammates at the University of Kentucky — John Wall and Eric Bledsoe — were his groommen. Former NBA player Matt Barnes was there, too.

“He’s been through a lot of late, so I’m happy to see him smile, be able to take his mind off his injury and enjoy his day,” he said.

Mr. and Mrs. Cousins were really happy on the biggest day of their life.

“The entire event was amazing from TOP to Bottom… Literally,” the couple told PEOPLE.
