Patriots Practice: Mohamed Sanu Absent, New Receiver Arrives

The New England Patriots returned to the practice field Wednesday, but one of their receivers was missing. Wideout Mohamed Sanu was the only player who didn’t attend the open media portion of the practice.

The receiver played in three games for the Patriots since being acquired from the Atlanta Falcons. He may be struggling with the ankle injury he suffered on a punt return in Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Sanu returned to the field with a taped ankle and finished the game with two catches on four targets for four yards and an 8-yard carry.

Wideout Phillip Dorsett attended the practice after leaving the Week 11 game with a head injury. Safety Patrick Chung and running back Damien Harris were there, too. Both players missed the match due to an injury.

New England had an unidentified new receiver at practice. The new player was wearing Josh Gordon’s No. 10. This player is probably part of the practice unit, because the Patriots entered the week with three open spots in the squad.

Will Mohamed Sanu show up for the next practice?

The Patriots own the first spot in the AFC. They are 9-1 at this point of the regular season. Tom Brady and Co. are playing the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Hopefully, head coach Bill Belichick will find a solution to the problem with offensive players. The Patriots offense is really low this season. They aren’t the worst players in the league, but their contribution is really poor. TB12 is really frustrated with the offense, and he thought they’d score more in Sunday’s game. There’s still plenty of time in the regular season. If you ask Brady, he will say that the Patriots need to get ready for the second half of the season, because it will determine their chances to win the Super Bowl.

Aside from the offensive struggles, New England plays really well. They are the best team in the NFL, and we do believe they will keep playing at this pace. Will Sanu return to the field for the next practice? Let’s wait and find out. They need to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
