Ex-Cowboys Receiver Dez Bryant Kind Of Vouching For Patriots to Sign Him

Everyone wants to be coached by Bill Belichick, including Dez Bryant. The former Cowboy is trying to make an NFL comeback, and he is the most recent name to be mentioned with the defending champions.

The Patriots defeated Bryant’s former team on Sunday, and numerous reports confirm that this was the most watched NFL game since 1996. The veteran wide receiver took to Twitter to tell everyone how Tom Brady’s team knows how to win a game, noting that TB12 is the best in clutch situations.

He also admitted that Belichick and his coaching staff are better than Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching staff. Yes, he was literally ranting against his former team. It took four tweets for Bryant to make his point.

Dez Bryant to New England

At the end of August, Bryant announced that he was reconsidering a return to the league in October. No NFL team showed interest in his skills, and the 31-year-old receiver didn’t get a spot in the league. Bryant last appeared on a roster with the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 season.

He tore his Achilles during a practice just two days after inking a deal with the Saints. Bryant didn’t really get a chance to play with the team.

He is a 31-year-old coming off a big injury. Bryant hasn’t played a NFL game in two years since the end of the 2017 season, and that’s why suitors got scared.

New England needs receivers at the moment. They cut Antonio Brown, and released Josh Gordon. Brady’s team may now focus on a veteran receiver known for his playmaking skills with less baggage.

Bryant isn’t as dynamic as the troubled Brown, but the Patriots could really use the former All-Pro receiver. Let’s not forget that Brown led the league in receiving touchdowns last season.

Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett are recovering from injuries at the moment. Gunner Olszewski was placed on season-ending injured reserve. In other words, the Patriots have just three healthy wide receivers.

Bryant is the Cowboys all-time leader in receiving touchdowns. Will he fit in Belichick’s program? You sure will.
