Bill Bellichick Goes Against Josh McDaniels For The Greater Good Of Patriots

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has huge plans for the team in 2020. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is probably part of these plans as Belichick didn’t want to allow him to move up his scheduled interviews with teams interested in his skills as head coach. Belichick did this while pushing special team coordinator Joe Judge for the New York Giants’ coaching position.

Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft don’t like to lose McDaniels who has excellent chemistry with future Hall of Famer quarterback Tm Brady. McDaniels is also one of the greatest play designers and play-callers in the NFL. Kraft and Belichick tried to keep McDaniels in 2017 and he didn’t join the Indianapolis Colts. Everyone knows that Belichick doesn’t like losing the assistants he likes.

The Patriots were eliminated from the playoff run Saturday night, but several teams have requested an interview with McDaniels. Belichick wasn’t available for discussion following the defeat.

Tom Brady is about to become a free agent, and some say he may play with another team. Brady’s potential departure would only help McDaniels join another team.

Belichick advocated for Judge and his position in New York. The Giants couldn’t hire both Judge and McDaniels.

The Browns, Giants, and Panthers have requested interviews with McDaniels at the end of the regular season. Belichick didn’t allow McDaniels to meet the Panthers on Monday. Judge had an interview with the Giants on the same day. Baylor coach Matt Rhule met with the Panthers on Tuesday and they hired him on Wednesday.

McDaniels had an interview with the Browns on Friday, and he was ready to meet with the Panthers on Tuesday and the Giants on Wednesday prior to both teams hiring a coach.

The Panthers really liked McDaniels and they would’ve hired him. However, they interviewed Rhule and hired him.

Does this mean that Josh McDaniels will stay with the Patriots for another season? Hopefully, Brady will re-sign with the team and play a few more seasons. Brady, Belichick and the rest of the guys missed the chance to win a title this season, but Belichick is already planning his 2020.
