Lakers’ Anthony Davis Joined Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
The Los Angeles Lakers won another game. The Detroit Pistons didn’t have much luck against the best team in the NBA. They didn’t have much luck against Anthony Davis and LeBron James. When it comes to Davis, he joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Shaquille O’Neal.
Davis recorded a double-double on Sunday night with 24 points (7/16 FG, 1/4 3PT, 9/10 FT), 11 boards and two assists. He also added three steals, eight blocks and one 3-pointer in his 38 minutes on the floor. Davis is now part of the same group as Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They are the only Lakers players to record 24+ points, 11+ rebounds and 8+ blocks in a game since 1982.
The Lakers pulled out a 106-99 win against the Detroit Pistons at Staples Center. Blake Griffin wasn’t there to help the team win this game.
This game was more than brilliant. The Lakers had a 20-block game, and they are the first team to block 20 shots in a game since the Toronto Raptors rejected the same number of shots in the game against the Golden State Warriors in 2001.
For LeBron, this is an incredible feat. The king of basketball was impressed by the game Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee had that night. He also likes everything Davis brought on the floor. King James likes how his team handles the pressure on the floor. They give each other strong support, and it was amazing.
Three Lakers players had five or more blocks. Davis had eight, and he led the team to a really great game. Los Angeles is closer to a title this season.
Davis is impressed with the job Lakers guards did. Pretty much every player did an effort to score, and these guys have built strong relationship. You can tell that by watching their game every night.
It’s a big season for Los Angeles and they are ready for a bit shot. They are ready for a title. Analysts agree that Los Angeles is much stronger than it was last year. They are healthy and strong, and hopefully they will stay strong.
