LeBron Cracks Jokes With Media Over Bizarre Scrum Setup

Lakers superstar LeBron James talked to media members and cracked jokes about the scrum setup.

Coronavirus put everyone into panic mode, and the NBA has to take measures. The league contemplates drastic measures in order to keep its players and fans safe from the threat. One of the first ideas was to start playing games in empty arenas. This means playing games without any fans in the stands. Of course, things are still under control, but the league decided to enact new rules according to which, media members can’t enter the locker room. Scrums have been outlawed and players have to stand at a podium to answer questions.

LeBron and the jokes over the scrum setup

King James was one of the first basketball players to go through the new procedure. He talked to media members after practice, and he was pretty thrilled. He even cracked a few jokes when asked what it felt like to be that far from the press. King James joked about the way he felt. He also noted that he feels weird without all those microphones in his face.

During his media availability, LeBron spoke about the new rules.

“Obviously I would be very disappointed not having the fans because that’s what I play for – I play for my family, I play for my fans. But at the same time you gotta listen to the people that’s keeping tracking of what’s going on. If they feel like it’s best for the safety of the players, the safety of the franchise, the safety of the league to mandate that – that’s something we’d all listen to.”

LeBron was among the first to condemn the NBA’s readiness to force players to play games without any fans. He plays for his fans and he really likes when he puts up a show for everyone. LeBron has a huge fanbase and games wouldn’t be the same without him.

The NBA is pretty serious about the coronavirus threat. People are dying from the virus and they have to take the necessary measures to prevent further damage. Things got really serious, and hopefully, authorities will find a way to put the situation under control.
