Report: New England Patriots Bring In Two Undrafted Rookie Free Agent QBs

The New England Patriots didn’t want to select a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. They decided to pass on several opportunities to get a good quarterback at any point in the draft. Now the Patriots have a free agent.

New England actually agreed to terms with two undrafted free agent quarterbacks a day after the end of the 2020 NFL Draft.

J’mar Smith is the first undrafted rookie free agent QB that New England signed. He measured at 6’1 and 220 lbs. Smith played in 43 games during his four seasons at Louisiana Tech. He was able to catch for 9,523 yards along with 51 touchdown passes. Smith had the ability to improve his overall game in each season with the program.

Smith left Louisiana Tech with a similar career to Terry Bradshaw. He won a bowl game in very year. He was also the recipient of the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2019.

Smith is versatile and athletic, and let’s not forget that he can take part in different play types. This includes the run-pass-option and standard zone-read option plays. He is also brilliant in every basic and simple offensive unit.
