New England Patriots Deliver Help To Chelsea Residents Amidst Pandemic

The US is caught in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. A lot of organizations have reached out to those in need. Millions of people are left without food. Millions of people lost their job. The New England Patriots, Revolution, and the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation joined forces to donate 84,000 meals to the coronavirus-affected city of Chelsea. This is not the first time the Patriots have supported in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

In the past five weeks, thousands of food packages veterans, military families, and veteran service organizations received thousands of food packages. Each of the packages contains non-perishable foods. The packages also have nutritionist-developed recipes to cover three meals a day for two people for two weeks.

People of the organization assembled about 1.7 million meals at Gillette Stadium. The food packages were later transported to six different locations: Agawam, Dennis, Devens, Foxboro, Methuen, and Sandwich. Residents were able to pick up their packages from these locations.

Thousands of meals have also been delivered to veterans, military families, and New England-based veteran service organizations.

Food packages were delivered to Eastern Minerals headquarters in Chelsea. The place is now used as the city’s food distribution center. From this point, the food will be taken to those in need. The Kraft family and the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation supported the donation.

The Patriots have done similar efforts to help the nation control the pandemic

This is not the first act of goodwill from the Patriots owner. In early April, Kraft transported 1.2 million protective face masks from China using the organization’s plan. The National Guard will distribute the masks to those in need.

The Patriots owner also sent 300,000 masks for the makeshift hospital at the Javits Center in New York City. Kraft’s team and the New York Jets have long been rivals. However, this donation changed everything. NYC publications thanked the Patriots publicly. Many say this donation marked the end to the bitter rivalry.

Kraft and his organization decided to allow season ticket holders with pre-existing health issues who can’t attend the Patriots’ home games this season to freeze their memberships. This comes without penalty, of course.

We need all the support we need to get through this pandemic.
