Patriots LB Josh Uche Initially Thought He Was Drafted By This Team

The New England Patriots selected Josh Uche in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The linebacker is an excellent addition to the Patriots roster. But, Uche didn’t really believe that the Patriots would be interested in him. Uche wasn’t even aware “the call” came from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and the organization.

One of Uche’s friends explained to The Boston Globe’s Nicole Yang that he was selected by another team. The Patriots weren’t really on his list. I mean, he didn’t think that the Patriots would love him.

“At first, his agent said it was the Titans,” said Jordan Hernande told Yang. “We all thought it was the Titans. Everybody was screaming, so he didn’t even know it was the Patriots.”

Draft mishaps have become quite a thing for the New England Patriots. Last year, the Patriots picked N’Keal Harry and it was a rather interesting pick. The team wanted to inform him that he was selected with the 32nd overall pick.

Josh Uche is joining a talented Patriots team

However, the Patriots must be thrilled to have Uche on the roster. He is a versatile linebacker and his skillset will help the team strengthen the defense.

The Patriots will enter the 2020 season without Tom Brady. This is one of the obstacles the team will have to overcome in September. But, it turns out that they have overcame the obstacle because Jarrett Stidham is on the roster as a No. 1 option for the team. New England selected 10 players in NFL Draft, and added 15 undrafted free agents. Most of the players have signed a contract with the team.

When it comes to other Patriots-related news, the team will have Mohamed Sanu ready for the season. He had ankle surgery this offseason, and has already got out of his walking boot. Sanu will soon start off the rehabilitation, and the team will have him halthy in 2020.

Every facility is closed at the moment, and we don’t know whether the teams will have their training camp this summer. New England will start the regular season on September 13, and the Miami Dolphins will come in town. The Detroit Lions will come to Foxboro for the first preseason game.
