Latest On Julian Edelman Recovery From Shoulder Surgery

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman recovers from his shoulder surgery and he is ready for the upcoming season. The star wideout has been working out with some of his teammates. Initial reports suggested that Edelman had sessions with second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham. Christopher Smith from Mass Live reported that Edelman has been working out with Brian Hoyer, too.

Edelman looks really fine, and it appears that he has recovered from the minor shoulder surgery he had in January. He is 34 and he has been part of the Patriots for over a decade. The star wideout will enter his first Brady-less season. Tom Brady signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Seeing him play with a different team is awkward, but Brady thought it would be much better if he parts ways with the Pats.

According to some reports, Edelman is using Brady’s departure as a motivation to move on. He is ready to accept the challenge and play his first season without the star quarterback. The Patriots offense struggled in 2019, and Brady’s departure may not cause more problems. New England lacks “proven pass-catching” threats.

Will Julian Edelman have problems with his shoulder surgery?

Edelman had 153 targets in 2019 and he ranked fourth in the league. He was on pace for 166 before sustaining knee and shoulder injuries in the final three weeks of the season. Edelman has hit a certain age and his medical record is pretty packed. Add the uncertain QB situation in New England to that. Hitting the same numbers as in 2019 would be pretty hard and Edelman may not be that good this season. Well, he has shown everyone that his skills are still sharp.

Some have linked Edelman to Brady’s current team suggesting that he would go to Tampa to play with the GOAT and Rob Gronkowski. Edelman denied any of this on Instagram. He keeps sharing posts of his huge love for the team. He is a Patriot and he won’t go anywhere.

The wideout and his teammates will probably catch passes from Stidham or Hoyer. Let’s wait and see what happens in the upcoming season. Who will start games in September?
