Bill Belichick Already Has A Nickname For Cam Newton

Bill Belichick is not one for nicknames but apparently this did not stop him from giving Cam Newton one. The New England Patriots are busy trying to make sure their roster is as good as possible. The fact that the missed the playoffs last year and had a disappointing season should be some pretty good motivation.

But any football team’s success depends on the quarterback and what he can do and bring to the table.

Former Carolina Panthers man Cam Newton was recently signed by the New England Patriots. He hit rock bottem when his original franchise decided against resigning him. Granted, he has dealt with quite a few injuries lately. He barely even started for the Panthers in 2019. Belichick and the New England Patriots took a risk and sign Newton on a one-year deal worth about $1.5 million.

Bill Belichick Already Has A Nickname For Cam Newton

On the recent version of Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, they took a look at Bill Belichick’s recent comments on new quarterback Cam Newton.

The host said , “Cam Newton, a kid? Are you kidding me? I got to tell you, I found this somewhat ‘disrespectful’ on the part of coach Belichick. I found this quote to have a little bit of mixed message, good news/bad news. He (Cam Newton) is hard-working, which he is and always has been, but he’s still a kid to Belichick and I wanna remind everybody that Cam Newton is 31 years of age.”

“Five years ago, he was the MVP of this league and carried a team pretty much on his back to the Super Bowl. He has made three Pro Bowls, he didn’t win the Super Bowl but you at least have to give him credit for playing in a Super Bowl.”

“I want to remind everybody that Bill Belichick always looks before he leaps when speaking to the media. Everything is premeditated,” Skip finished.

Hopefully Newton will have some motivation from this. He should be able to take the starting spot and play at a high level. What do you think about what he had to say?
