The Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 1 against the Portland Trail Blazers. The team struggled shooting and it was obvious. There were a few empty spots, but the team found a way to regain control. The result? LA won Game 2. It was an impressive win. Lakers players ran over Portland and won. LeBron James scored just 10 points but he had an epic reaction to Anthony Davis’ footwork.

This particular footwork helped the Lakers win the game. Davis was brilliant. Thanks to his skills, the Lakers restored parity in the first-round series. It was a beautiful win for the team. The Lakers big man made 13 of his 24 shots, including 3-of-4 from three-point range and also had 11 rebounds.

LeBron James will have another epic reaction in Game 3

If you ask Davis, he will say that the team has a real chance to do something amazing this year.

“We have got a chance to do something special this year,” Davis said. “All LeBron (James) and (Rajon) Rondo talk about is, ‘it doesn’t come around often’, when you have a great team that can compete for a championship. We want to take advantage of our opportunities and this team we have and try to reach our goal – that’s to win.”

The Lakers planned to come out aggressive in Game 2 and play with a sense of desperation. Did they do that? You can bet they did. LA players made cool shots in Game 2 and had great confidence while shooting the ball. The Lakers played with a sense of urgency and they managed to finish the game with a big win.

The Game 1 loss helped the Lakers go back on the mantra that had motivated them all season. This mantra helped them secure the top spot in the West. Going 0-2 in the series is awful.

So, what kept the guys floating on the surface? “You never want to go down 0-2 in a series” or “never lose two in a row.” It makes sense. That was the mindset Lakers players had coming into Game 2.
