Julian Edelman Reacts To Not Being Named As Patriots Captain in 2020

Julian Edelman is ready for the 2020 season. Twas a very disappointing 2019 season for the New England Patriots. It was not just a disappointment for fans. It was also very difficult for the Patriots to deal with all of the walk outs and opt outs that came with the season. The COVID situation has definitely made it very difficult for them to deal with all of the holes that were left.

Cam Newton was one of the players that was signed in the off season. The Patriots signed him to replace the legendary Tom Brady. Obviously, this change is not going to happen over night. But from the sounds of it, it is going over quite well. Newton has been impressing coaches with his work ethic.

“I have learned a lot about Cam,” Belichick explained. “I had never really had any interaction with Cam, and then when we signed him, we had some phone calls and WebEx meetings and stuff like that.”

“Being with him every day, he’s an extremely hard-working player,” Belichick continued. “First guy in, last one out type of guy. He really has studied hard and he has spent a lot of extra time trying to learn our offense and our communication and our calls, and nomenclature and so forth. Yeah, I’ve been very impressed with that. He’s done a good job of picking it up. He’s a very skilled athlete and we’re just working through it day-by-day.”

Julian Edelman is also ready for the 2020 season. however. He has been working on making a relationship with Newton.

Special teamer Matthew Slater had some pretty good things to say about Edelman, however.

“All the things you hope to have in a guy that represents your franchise, he embodies.”

Edelman also talked about what he had to bring to the table.

“I think leadership and all that stuff is conveyed in a whole bunch of ways,” Edelman said.. “The guys that are captains are captains for a reason. Those guys are unbelievable men.

“I focus a lot on what I have to do and what I have to do to prepare myself and help my teammates. I’m just ready for the season.”
