Watch: Cam Newton Runs For His Second TD of Patriots Debut vs Dolphins

The first touchdown for Cam Newton vs the Miami Dolphins was using his legs in the running game. So far, the Patriots have looked pretty dominate in their week 1 showing. Miami has not been able to move the ball much at all against the Patriot defense. In fact, they only ran 6 plays to the Patriots 20 plays in the third quarter.

Now, New England’s second score looked very similar to the first touchdown. They have once again found the end zone thanks to the running ability of Cam Newton. Take a look:

Newton ran into the end zone to help grab a two-touchdown lead over their AFC East division rival. This score came only minutes into the second half. The Patriots were on the Miami’s 11-yard line. Newton took the snap, faked a handoff to Rex Burkhead and then did his best to run to the corner of the end zone.

The score was originally ruled a touchdown. However, it soon went under review before being upheld.

It has been pretty remarkable to see Newton in action for the Patriots. So far, he looks like he is in shape and ready for a good year for the Patriots. But he will still have a lot to learn in the Bill Belichick offense. It is hard to join and learn a very complicated offense so quickly.

Let’s hope he can continue his high level play.
