Watch: LeBron James Admits He’s ‘Cherry Picking The Whole 1st Half’ For Next Season

Former US President Barack Obama cracked a joke about LeBron James and his role in the Lakers defense in the first half of the upcoming season. According to him, the four-time NBA champion won’t join his team’s defense at the beginning of the 2020-21 season. Is Obama right about this? He was joking. Obviously. Well, this was more than enough for NBA fans to start talking. Obama made his comments on a recent episode of HBO’s “The Shop: Uninterrupted” with King James.

LeBron finished his 17th NBA season with a championship ring. The Los Angeles Lakers won the 17th title in team history. When someone mentioned that the veteran would 5-10 more seasons, the former US president said LeBron would soon get minutes restriction.

“I’m not sure he’s getting back on [defense] the first half of the season,” Obama said.

What did the Laker said? His response was hilarious. We bet NBA fans would be even more aggressive with their comments.

“First half of the season, I’m cherry picking the whole first half of the season,” the four-time NBA champion said.

LeBron James to aim for another ring next season

LeBron is 35 and he will be 36 in December. He is one of the NBA’s elder players but age has nothing on him. LeBron played his best basketball, and his defense was brilliant in the past season. Moreover, LeBron led the Lakers to a title and that’s not something you underestimate.

The 16-time All-Star had an incredible game in the playoffs and he guarded his opponents in clutch moments.

It was a brilliant season for LeBron and the Lakers. He won his fourth ring and Anthony Davis won his first title. As if it wasn’t enough, LeBron also won his fourth Finals MVP award.

Davis was of great help in the process and he helped LA shut down opponents. Hopefully, the Lakers big man will stay on the roster in 2020. Los Angeles needs his size and talent. LeBron needs his best teammate.

Obama and LeBron gave everyone a reason to talk, but the king of basketball doesn’t even think of the critics.
