Cam Newton Message To Patriots Locker Room After Win Over Cardinals Revealed

The New England Patriots defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12. They have a 5-6 record at this point and NFL expert had great words for the 20-17 win. In this game, the Patriots gained just 179 yards of offense. This is the lowest total gained in the time of Bill Belichick. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton addressed this during his speech inside the locker room.

“I said in the locker room, I’d rather have an ugly win rather than a pretty loss, if that makes any sense,” the 2015 NFL MVP said. “I don’t know if that even exists. We didn’t play our best game offensively, but when we needed it, we got the job done. That’s all that counts.”

Cam Newton is a big guy in the locker room

Newton has four straight amazing performances. He completed 9-of-18 passes for 84 yards and two interceptions. One of the turnovers happened when he received a hit while launching after veteran running back James White didn’t get the blitz. The quarterback took the blame for the other interception.

“It was just a bad throw,” Newton said. “It doesn’t really matter what I felt on that play. It’s just a matter of what happened. That’s what it comes down to. For me, I can’t jeopardize this team and put the ball up for grabs, so to speak. I just got to get Damiere a better ball so he can compete and contest it.”

New England’s pass-protectors allowed three sacks. The starting quarterback ran the ball nine times for 46 yards. Newton’s 14-yarder picked up a first down on third-and-13 with 56 seconds left of the game. He drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on this play for the hit from linebacker Isaiah Simmons. New England got 7 more yards on the new set of downs ahead of Nick Folk’s field goal attempt.

Running back Damien Harris leads the Patriots with 1 carry for 47 yards. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers had five catches for 52 yards. Running back James White hit two rushing touchdowns on five attempts for 18 yards and a catch for a 1-yard loss.
