New England Patriots Sign Inspirational Free-Agent Safety

The New England Patriots are interested in adding depth to the practice unit. That’s probably the reason why the team decided to make another roster move. The Patriots decided to sign a free agent safety to address one of their issues.

New England signed hard-nosed safety JT Hassell and guard Ross Reynolds.

Hassell is someone who workd really hard to get to the goal. The talented safety is an athletic linebacker turned into safety, cming from Florida Institute of Technology. Hassell measured at 5 feet 11, 200 pounds. He has just two fingers on his left hand, but this was never an issue for him.

The safety played six games for the Cleveland Browns this past season. The team released him in September. New England had Hassell for workouts twice, and he ended up joining the pracrice squad this month. The Patriots may not activate Hassell for the game against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, his role on the field will definitely boost the team.

Patriots sign the athletic safety for a reason

Hassell is an incredible athlete who can mimic the players New England has on the schedule. He may be an impact player on special teams and provide depth to the secondary.

The 25-year-old has plenty of room to grow, but having him around is more than beneficial for the team.

This signing may come at the right time. Tight end Dalton Keene may soon join the team, and experts believe that head coach Bill Belichick will use him in the upcoming game. Keene arrived at the practice field Wednesday and he cam come off injured reserve. The third-round pick has just one reception, and that’s better than Devin Asiasi. New England has to activate Asiasi by December 16 if they want to use him on the field this season.
