Report: Patriots’ Cam Newton Has Sold His Condo

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t really like to talk about his decisions. He shut down almost every question about his starting quarterback, insisting that his team has a quarterback and they are not going to replace him. But, Belichick may have changed his mind. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton sold his condo and triggered an avalanche of reactions. Is Newton on his way out?

The 2015 NFL MVP signed a one-year deal with the Patriots, receiving the veteran minimum. New England was the only team to offer him a home. The NFL was dealing with a pandemic, and players like Newton couldn’t really have their workout with other teams. Virtual meetings became the only way teams used to communicate with their players. Newton had so much to show, but he wasn’t allowed to do that.

Head coach Belichick made Newton compete with second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham and veteran journeyman Brian Hoyer for the starting position. The brilliant coach decided to trust Newton and kept him under center.

Things looked really great for Newton, but he got COVID-19 and his team lost four straight games. Newton had spent his entire career with the Carolina Panthers. Did he have trouble coping with the new system?

Cam Newton sold his condo for a reason

Panthers beat writer, Sheena Quick, wrote that the Patriots quarterback put his condo up for a sale in July. This happened at the same time he signed a deal with Belichick. Charlotte Hornets rookie LaMelo Ball bought the home.

Newton’s decision to put his home up for a sale may not be related to his future in the NFL. We all knew that his stay in New England may end up in January. Selling his condo doesn’t mean a thing. Maybe Newton just wanted to leave the Charlotte area.

But, we are all worried about the fact that Newton hasn’t taken up a permanent residence yet. The Patriots didn’t guarantee his stay in New England, and he probably took every detail into consideration.
