Julian Edelman Shares Epic Instagram Post Showing His 10 Year Transformation

New England Patriots wideout Julian Edelman surprised fans with his most recent Instagram post showing his transformation over the years. Edelman’s season with the Patriots was brought to an end in October. He suffered a knee injury and underwent surgery to fix it. The Patriots placed him on injured reserve and then added him to the reserve/COVID-19 list. Edelman returned to the practice field, but the team didn’t activate him off IR. So, what’s next on the list?

Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t make any comments regarding Edelman’s role in 2021. He confirmed that the wideout wouldn’t join his teammates in the final game of the 2020 NFL season.

Julian Edelman went through a massive transformation

Edelman’s contract runs through 2021. But, will he return to New England? Some say that Edelman has played his final game with the team. If this happens, Edelman will retire as one of the best wideouts in league history.

The veteran has been part of the NFL for 12 years. He suffered four big injuries, had to deal with one suspension and stacked 738 receptions, 69 rushing attempts, eight passes, 48 touchdowns, one Super Bowl MVP award, and three Super Bowl titles. Edelman received a bunch of hits throughout his career, but always had a way to get back up. He started off as a quarterback and then became one of the best players in the entire league.

Edelman’s greatness is nothing in comparison to the power Tom Brady showed throughout the years. But, Edelman was Brady’s favorite target. TB12 is a sixth-round pick who became a six-time Super Bowl champion. Edelman enjoyed every bit of their time on the field. Comparing himself to Brady is in no way an option.

Edelman had a humble start of his career. He got zero scholarship offers out of high school and spent a year at junior college in San Mateo. That’s when Kent State threw an offer. Edelman threw 30 touchdowns and 31 interceptions and did more damage on the ground than with his arm. His Golden Flashes went 13-23 in his three years as a quarterback.
