LeBron James Has a Message For Haters After Season-High vs Giannis And The Bucks
NBA experts can’t really make any predictions regarding the 2020-21 season. However, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have already had their statement game. These games are played later in the season. Fans are well aware of this. Los Angeles had a 113-106 win over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, and that’s the perfect statement game. LeBron was brilliant against his younger rival, and his great win was the best message for his haters.
This was the first game between LeBron and Giannis since the Lakers superstar finished second in the MVP voting in 2020. The 16-time All-Star didn’t really accept that and even suggested that he deserves more votes.
LeBron had his season high on Thursday night. He finished the game with 34 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. He made 13 of 25 shots, six triples and 38 minutes. Antetokounpo won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020, and he led his team with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. The Bucks star had nine turnovers and LeBron made the best plays of the night.
The Lakers have the best record in the league, standing at 12-4. They are a half-game ahead of the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Bucks have a 9-6 record, recovering from their first back-to-back losses. Milwaukee ranks third in the East.
LeBron has the perfect message for his haters
In his postgame press conference, LeBron said he didn’t even think of the 2019-20 MVP voting that night. The four-time NBA champion was just trying to win the game with his teammates.
“It’s never been about individual (honors),” he said. ”It’s all about the team success. That’s all that matters. I just want to play well and help our team versus any opponent. That’s what it’s all about.”
This was actually the best opportunity for the king. He showed everyone why he should win his fifth MVP award. Let’s not forget that the Lakers had the shortest offseason in league history. Any thought that the team would struggle to win games. LeBron is here to prove everyone wrong. Los Angeles is going after another championship win.
