Report: Renowned Sports Doctor Warns Anthony Davis Could be Shut Down For Months

Sports doctor David J. Chao shared his thoughts on Anthony Davis and the injury he is dealing with. The Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis is dealing with his Achilles injury, and Chao’s comments came like a real shock for every Lakers fan. AD limped on his way to the locker room, and it was the worst nightmare for every Lakers fan out there. LA can’t lose Davis in the first half of the season.

According to the doctor, the Lakers superstar may miss a lot of games this season.

Bad News: Clearly symptomatic from tendonitis and could have partial tear. Have to think a shut down is coming as high re-aggravation rate.”

The doctor suggested evaluating the recovery in a few weeks. He said, “Shut down coming. Measured in multiple weeks but could extend into months depending on severity.”

Davis left Sunday’s game against the Denver Nuggets. He re-aggravated his right Achilles. This is just one of the many injuries he has been dealing with this season.

The doctor offers great advice on Anthony Davis

The Lakers can’t lose Davis at this point of the season. Losing him would be a big blow for the team. Los Angeles wins games thanks to Davis’ stats. He keeps delivering great numbers for the reigning champions. In 23 regular-season games, Davis is averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals per game.

Playing without Davis in the next few months would lead to serious problems in Los Angeles. This would seriously affect the Lakers’ chance to defend the title.

If Davis returns too soon, he may blow out his Achilles. In other words, the Lakers would play without him in the playoffs. That’s the last thing LA needs right now.

Los Angeles has a 21-7 record at this point of the season. They have the second-best record in the Western Conference, standing right behind the Utah Jazz. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel likes his players and trusts his potential. Hopefully, he will have Davis back on the floor in the near future. LeBron James looks great on the floor, but he needs extra help during games.
