Patriots Continue To Discuss Potential WR Trade

The New England Patriots are trying to build a superteam overnight. The good news? They will be able to do so. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will bring a group of elite players to New England. He re-signed Cam Newton to a one-year deal and signed the best tight ends on the open market. Belichick missed the playoffs in 2020. His recent moves suggest that he won’t go through the same again. The legendary head coach addressed pretty much every need in the first days of the legal tampering period. Guess what… the Patriots are still interested in a WR trade.

The team signed a couple of wide receivers in free agency. What’s the next move? The Patriots have a bunch of wide receivers on the roster.

N’Keal Harry is one of them. Belichick selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Many thought he’d have an instant impact on the Patriots roster. He didn’t. Harry failed to meet everyone’s expectations. In his first two seasons, Harry was able to catch just 45 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He struggled with injuries and missed some time.

Patriots to agree to the WR trade

Last week, Mike Garafolo from NFL Network reported that teams had contacted the Patriots about trading for talented Harry. The 23-year-old has attracted the attention of many coaches across the league.

Mike Giardi from NFL Network tweeted that the team is in the talks with other teams about their young receiver.

The Patriots signed Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor in the first days of free agency. Veteran Julian Edelman and Jakobi Meyers are still on the roster. Edelman doesn’t even think of retiring. Belichick has a talented group of receivers to work with.

If Harry stays on the bottom of the depth chart in 2021, and the Patriots can get a nice trade for him in return, then maybe it will be a good move to remove him.

Belichick is ready to do whatever it takes to boost the roster and increase his chances to make the postseason.
