Brady is the best quarterback of all times. He left the Patriots to join the Bucs. The NFL is now trying to compensate the Patriots.

Patriots to get nice compensation for Brady

When NFL teams lose more players in free agency than they get, the NFL uses a formula to calculate the impact of the loss. Teams receive compensatory picks in exchange for the loss.

New England was awarded the highest possible compensation for their loss on Wednesday. The league released details on the compensation. New England is getting a third-round selection which is the 96^th overall as confirmed by Mike Reiss from ESPN.

The Patriots have received the highest possible 2022 compensatory draft pick, third round/No. 96, as part of losing Tom Brady last year. The team also gets a 4th rounder (No. 140).

Jim McBride from the Boston Globe reported that the team’s fourth-round compensatory pick was the 140^th selection. It was later amended to No. 139 pick.

“Compensatory Free Agent (“CFA”) shall be defined as an Unrestricted Free Agent (“UFA”) who: (i) signed with a new Club during the prior free agency signing period […] prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the Monday following the NFL Draft for that League Year¹ […]; and (ii) ranked within the top 35%² of all League players […]. Clubs that lose to other Clubs a greater number of CFAs than they sign or acquire from other Clubs shall be eligible to receive a Compensatory Draft Selection in the College Draft to be held in the following League Year subject to the provisions set forth below.”
