Report: Longtime Patriots Player Linked To Tampa Bay In Free Agency

The New England Patriots have spent a lot of money on the first day of free agency. No NFL team has spent more money than Bill Belichick at the moment. Belichick got a lot of players on Monday, but he may also lose some of his veterans. According to recent sources, a Patriots player may leave the team and join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.

The Patriots created a nice deal with former Tennessee Titans tight end Jonny Smith. A day later, the team got Hunter Henry to a three-year deal. He will get up to $37.5 million.

The Patriots really needed offensive weapons. 2020 was a terrible season for the team and they missed the playoffs. Head coach Bill Belichick will keep Cam Newton on the roster, so he is probably getting all the weapons Newton needs to win games. Well, we don’t really know if Newton will be Belichick’s No.1 quarterback. Maybe the legendary coach will make him compete with other quarterbacks.

Patriots to lose their player to Tampa Bay

The Patriots are set to add more power to the offense. Are they ready to lose some of the players? The team may lose some of the key playmakers.

Longtime Patriots running back James White is an incredibly versatile player. Moreover, he is one of the most versatile players on the open market. Several NFL teams have shown interest in getting White. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers want him too. Tom Brady’s Buccaneers. Rings a bell?

Adam Schefter from ESPN reported that the Bucs would love to reunite their star quarterback and White. That combo would be more than explosive. We know what happens when White and Brady hit the field together.

Many sources made this connection in the 2020 season. Bucs running backs struggled to catch their ball. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones dropped too many balls before the playoffs.

This was more than enough for some experts to suggest that White would be the best addition for the Bucs backfield. Let’s see how will the Patriots handle the upcoming deals.
