Lakers Reveal Which Jersey Number Ben McLemore Will Wear

The Los Angeles Lakers made a decision on the jersey number for newly-signed veteran Ben McLemore. Head coach Frank Vogel said McLemore was ready for the game against the Miami Heat. He played with the Houston Rockets and he is definitely in a good shape.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are out due to injuries and they could use someone like McLemore. Andre Drummond is ready to join LA, too. It’s great to see McLemore and Drummond join forces on the floor.

According to the Lakers, McLemore would wear No.7 on his new jersey. The veteran had No.23 in college in his first stint with the Sacramento Kings. LeBron has this number now. The player had No.16 in Houston and could’ve kept that number in LA. But, McLemore is ready for a fresh start and he is wearing No.7.

Lakers have the best jersey number for McLemore

Playing with LA is great for McLemore. The Rockets turned into a mess following James Harden’s departure. McLemore left the 14^th seed in the league to the defending champions.

“Obviously it was a great feeling, a great situation for me and my family,” McLemore said Thursday. “I think I made the right decision. I’m thrilled and happy to be a part of Laker Nation. I just finished shootaround, I’m trying to get acclimated with the guys and plays and things like that, so I’m ready to get started.”

McLemore has never won a title in his basketball career. He has a chance to do that with the Lakers now.

The Lakers got McLemore because of his ability to hit 3-pointers. The veteran hit over 40% of his three-pointers in the last two seasons.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel had nothing but great words for McLemore. He spotted the player inside the NBA bubble.

“He just told me how much of a threat I was and that they obviously didn’t want me getting shots, and that he knew that I could come on this Lakers team and bring a big spark off the bench with my shooting ability as well. Obviously, that was a big reason and a big part of my decision,” McLemore said. “I have a great opportunity here.”

Playing with LeBron James and Anthony Davis is a big deal, right?

“It’s another great feeling just to be able to play with the best player in the world LeBron James, and Anthony Davis and all these guys,” McLemore said. “To put on this Laker uniform is going to be something fun and exciting.”
