Report: NFL Warned Not to Allow Bill Belichick to Draft ‘Stud’ QB Prospect

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was really aggressive in the offseason, and he will probably get the top QB prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, NFL teams are warned. Former NFL President and ESPN analyst Joe Banner believes that the Patriots should get Trey Lance from North Dakota State.

The analyst took to Twitter to warn pretty much everyone in the NFL. He warned teams not to allow the Patriots head coach to snatch Lance. Yes, Lance and Belichick can do wonders in the NFL.

Banner wrote, “that coach with that QB on a rookie contract for five years would be scary for everyone who isn’t a Pats fan.”

Bill Belichick to snatch the best QB prospect

Let’s not forget that Banner really likes Lance. He believes the player may get the short end of the stick from an evaluation stand point. According to Banner, Lance is “the smartest of the top four.” His top four includes Lance, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, BYU’s Zach Wilson, and Ohio State’s Justin Fields.

Talented Lance didn’t play in 2020 as the NFL canceled the games due to the pandemic. However, he was brilliant in 2019. The quarterback prospect lit up the Missouri Valley Conference and threw for 2,786 yards, 28 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The perfect fit for Belichick, right?

The quarterback also ran 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns. He measures at 6’4’’, 226 pounds, and has strong physique. Let’s just say that his game is a combo of Russell Wilson and prime Cam Newton. Will Lance find his spot in the NFL? Everything points to the fact that he will have a brilliant future in the league. NFL analysts are excited about him.

Field Yates from ESPN praised Lance in his recent tweet. He talked about the quarterback’s unique arm and unmatched power as a runner. If you ask Yates, he will say Lance is the most fascinating player in the upcoming draft.

Let’s see how will Belichick handle the upcoming draft. He sure has a few ideas on his mind. Is Lance even an option?
