Watch Moment Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft Call Mac Jones After Picking Quarterback

New England Patriots head coach Bill  Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft drafted Mac Jones and they both agree that Mac Jones was the right quarterback option for the team. New England selected Jones with the No.15 overall. This put an end to all the speculation surrounding the storied organization.

Jones may be the Patriots’ quarterback of the future. New England got him in the first round. Well, Jones had to spend half of the first round in the green room. Many thought the San Francisco 49ers would get him at No.3. Guess what… New England wanted him. Jones is the first quarterback selected in Round 1 by the Patriots since Drew Bledsoe in 1993.

Bledsoe became a star and New England really hopes to see the same development in Jones. The young quarterback has a chance to become the face of the franchise.

Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft made the right call for Mac Jones

Jones isn’t really bothered with that. The 22-year-old enjoys his moment and he had his first media conference call. He used the word “awesome” a little too often during the conference call. He really likes the Patriots and said they are a great football team. Being a Patriot is really “awesome.”

Young Jones was excited during the draft process and he really liked watching other players celebrate their success with the families. Things will get really serious at this point. Jones is joining a strong team and he will have to give Belichick at least one good reason to keep him around.

New England gave Jarrett Stidham a chance, but he failed to meet expectations. Belichick put him on the floor but Stidham didn’t get the chance and had to go back to backup.

Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels visited Jones at his Pro Day at Alabama. He also had frequent virtual meetings with the team.

Jones had Zoom meetings a few times and he also pointed to the fact that Belichick has a relationship with coach Saban. He will try to have the same performance as he did on his Pro Day.
