Patriots Sign Hidden Gem in Speedy Ex-Lions WR

The New England Patriots are adding even more talent to their roster and this time they decided to sign a talented WR. Former Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Marvin Hall is joining the Patriots. Ian Rapoport confirmed the signing.

Mike Reiss from ESPN took to Twitter to show Hall at Patriots OTAs on Friday.

The Patriots have added tons of talent to the offensive side of the ball. Head coach Bill Belichick could really use another speedy player in 2021. This is the reason he had to select Tre Nixon in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The same goes for Hall.

The 28-year-old has been in and out of the league since 2017. Oakland Raiders signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Hall spent a lot of time in the NFL and split his time between several organizations. He broke in with the Atlanta Falcons and made a huge impact with the team.

Patriots sign talented WR

The wide receiver appeared in 24 games from 2017-18. Hall made 12 catches for a couple of touchdowns before going out. The Chicago Bears added him to the practice unit, but he didn’t stay with the team.

Hall signed with the Detroit Lions and played under Belichick’s general assistant and former Motown head coach Matt Patricia. He spent 2019 and some time of 2020 in Detroit. He played one game with the Browns in 2020.

The wide receiver had two touchdown receptions with the Lions. This helped him solidify the big-play ability. Hall has an ability to stretch the field.

Hall has great burst, good hands, and is an excellent route runner. Maybe he needs a chance to show what he can do on the field on a regular basis.

The Patriots have a nice depth at wide receiver. Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, and Matthew Slater have secured their spots. Slater goes on special teams and doesn’t play much wide receiver.

New England looks good at the moment and players have all the motivation they need to make the playoffs in the upcoming season. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming season.
