Report: 1 Word Used To Describe Stephon Gilmore Status

NFL experts have made so many theories about Stephon Gilmore and his status with the New England Patriots. There’s an update on his contract situation. Sort of.

As you may be guessing, the Patriots situation with Gilmore won’t be resolved in the near future. Wonder why?

Albert Breer from Sports Illustrated reported that Gilmore’s future with the Patriots is still up in the air. New England will soon enter training camp and Gilmore may not see any action at all.

The 30-year-old is trying to get a new contract. There’s almost zero evidence that he will get more money in the upcoming season.

The veteran cornerback will make $7 million in the upcoming season. Of course, Gilmore never planned on playing at this salary.

If you ask Breer, Gilmore’s status with the team is “uncertain.”

The former Defensive Player of the Year wants to get the money he deserves. He spoke about this earlier in the offseason. Of course, Gilmore wants what he is worth. He believes that NFL players should get the money they deserve. Keep in mind that Gilmore is not in the top 10 best-paid cornerbacks in the league. He is definitely not happy with this.

Gilmore is the best cornerback in the NFL. He was brilliant during his time with the Patriots. The veteran joined the Patriots in 2017 and made three Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro teams.

Bill Belichick’s players are ready to report to training camp. Will Gilmore join them later this month?

The Patriots open the 2021 season on Sunday, Sept. 12. They will meet the Miami Dolphins in the first game. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will arrive at Gillette Stadium in Week 4.

“I just want what I’m worth, however that plays out,” Gilmore told NFL insider Josina Anderson. “Every player should be paid what they’re worth. That’s just how it is.”

Let’s see what happens this summer. Belichick needs someone like Gilmore, but he won’t spend too much money on an aging cornerback. Gilmore missed a lot of time due to his health issues. We all know what that means.
