Report: 2 Patriots Players in Danger of Losing Starting Jobs

The New England Patriots will enter the 2021 NFL season with a different roster. Several players secured their spots on the football field but some of them will have to go. Head coach Bill Belichick added depth to pretty much every position on the active roster. He made a few decisions about his starters, but there are a few players who may leave the starting position.

NFL experts believe the Patriots will be a surprise team in 2021.

The Patriots were really busy in the offseason. Belichick signed Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith in free agency. They will have big roles at tight end.

Belichick has a strong defense but he may use a few new starters in the midst this season. The rock solid defense will look pretty dominant on the floor. At least one Patriots veteran may end up losing his starting role to a younger prospect.

Patriots starters to lose the job in 2021

Cam Newton

Newton is a favorite to win the starting job. What about rookie quarterback Mac Jones? The first rounder had great performance in training camp. He did a decent job in the preseason opener against the Washington Football Team. Belichick will have to make a big decision this time.

Newton suffered a shoulder injury in 2018, but he is an excellent athlete. He was good in his first season with the Patriots. That’s why Belichick brought him back for another season. It will be a tough battle for everyone.

Kyle Van Noy

Van Noy is an excellent outside linebacker. He left the Patriots to sign a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. However, he returned to New England to contribute to the team. Josh Uche is a second-year prospect who did a good job in training camp.

Van Noy deals with injury problems and he comes off of the physically unable to perform list. Uche has a really good chance to snatch the starting job away from his veteran teammate.

Uche saw action in nine games last year. He made huge progress and yes, he was an excellent surprise for the Patriots.
